Group Fitness Classes in NYC
45-minute coached classes at four F45 studios in Dumbo, Williamsburg, Flatiron and Midtown East. Strength, HIIT cardio, hybrid bootcamp-style sessions and recovery, with two coaches on the floor and a new workout every day.
What an F45 class is
45 minutes, two coaches, one circuit
An F45 class is a 45-minute, station-based functional training session. You move through a circuit of stations on a timer, with the movements, work intervals and rest periods shown on screens around the room. Two coaches work the floor for the whole class: one leads the room and keeps the clock, the other corrects form, swaps loads and scales movements for whoever needs it.
The program changes every day. F45 draws from a library of thousands of functional movements, and the workout you do on Tuesday is not the one you did last Tuesday. That is the reason members stay: the format is consistent enough to feel familiar in week one, and varied enough that nobody plateaus. Every class works the whole body, and every class can be scaled up for an athlete or down for someone on day one.
The formats
Strength, cardio, hybrid, recovery
The week rotates through four formats so that strength, conditioning and recovery are all covered without you having to plan any of it. Whether you are looking for HIIT classes, strength classes or a bootcamp-style mix, it is on the schedule every week at every studio.
Resistance-led classes built around dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, sleds and bodyweight progressions. Longer work intervals and meaningful loads, scaled per person by the coaches.
The HIIT side of F45: plyometrics, rowers, SkiErgs, bikes and bodyweight circuits on short timers. Built to push your aerobic and anaerobic systems in one 45-minute session.
Strength and cardio in the same class, the format most people describe as bootcamp. It is also the closest match to HYROX race demands, which is why our F45 × HYROX programming lives here.
Mobility, stretching and low-intensity movement to balance the higher-intensity days. Midtown East adds an infrared sauna and Normatec recovery suite.

How it compares
Not a gym floor, not a single-discipline class
A big-box gym gives you equipment and leaves the rest to you: writing a program, finding free racks at 6 PM, staying honest about intensity. F45 removes those decisions. The workout is written, the stations are set up before you walk in, and a coach is watching your form for the full 45 minutes. You get the structure of personal training at a group price.
Boutique cycling and bootcamp classes tend to do one thing very well. A cycling class is cardio on a bike; a bootcamp class is usually a fixed style of circuit. F45 rotates strength, cardio and hybrid days across the week, so you build muscle and conditioning in the same membership instead of needing two. The equipment is also broader: dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, sleds, rowers, SkiErgs, bikes, sandbags and wall balls, not a single machine.
